OverviewBlashford Lakes in south-west Hampshire is one of the most important inland sites for waterbirds in southern England. Thousands of wintering wildfowl, gulls and other species are complemented by some interesting breeding species, a diverse range of passage migrants, and occasional surprise visitors. 241 species have been recorded, including no fewer than 40 species of wildfowl, 35 waders and 15 gulls (plus a further four subspecies).
