Author Information

Henry M. Stevenson was a Research Fellow at the Tall Timbers Research Station in Tallahassee from 1975 until his death in 1991. He was Professor Emeritus of Zoology at Florida State University and the author of Vertebrates of Florida: Identification and Distribution, A Key to Florida Birds, and more than two hundred scientific articles. He was the first editor of the journal Florida Field Naturalist. For many decades he compiled seasonal summaries and Christmas Bird Counts for Audubon Field Notes and American Birds. Bruce H. Anderson, author and coauthor of many field notes and articles published in Florida Naturalist, Wilson Bulletin, and Florida Field Naturalist, lives in Winter Park and has studied birds in Florida for more than thirty-five years. He is active in the Florida Ornithological Society and serves as secretary of its records committee.
