OverviewThis story is taken from an experience the author had in her childhood. Some things were changed to protect certain people and places. Other things were drawn from memories, some of which were described by her as a little dim, but the feelings and emotions surrounding the events remained clear as day. Because of that, at times the scenarios were constructed for the strong emotions and for only small bits of memory. However, this story that happened in the life of the author and her father in the 1940's, is an event, that held a surprise conclusion in the life of the author after she had grown up and become a parent, and even a grandparent, herself.
