Overview

The Big Story explains the way in which the purposeful process that has brought human beings into existence has taken place gradually over time and space. It shows that the concepts of evolution and creation are not mutually exclusive. Science and religion are shown to be two windows on one reality, two knowledge systems that when properly understood function as one cohesive whole. This book is most suitable for readers 14 years and older. Younger readers will enjoy the bright and informative illustrations but will require support.

Reviews

The Big Story begins with a view of evolution and ends with a powerful sense of purpose in the universe. It is fascinating; it is talking to your mind and heart at the same time. It is delightful to read, and the reading may bring tears of joy as it did to me. Once I started to read, it was hard to drop it, and at the end I was left in awe, amazed how the author connects everything in the universe with harmony, beauty, and majesty. This work recounts the philosophy of creation. It employs an attractive scientific language which is easy to understand. It gently offers a version of reality that stimulates the reader's mind and initiates a process of thinking and reflection. This work shows the known universe, describes the evolution of life, and highlights the emergence of human beings in the physical realm as both its culmination and its destiny. The author takes a very courageous approach to the controversial topic of material and spiritual reality and offers the outstanding and profound concept that: Life is not possible without the spiritual realm. It recalls the questions such as: What are the virtues? Why do we need to acquire them? Where is their origin? Do they change? The most exciting concept offered is the nobility of human soul. If every single human is endowed with the potential of acquiring all virtues, there is potential for transformation of the individual and society and for building prosperous communities. - Mr Hessam Shahidi
