Overview

Almost everyone has stories of emergency room (ER) visits; some good, and often times bad. Emergency rooms are often the point of a changed life or even death. It usually represents a new challenge or point of survival. The Big Blue H is a collection of tales told by Dr. Riley (Dr. Michaels) that represents many rare and odd events that he has witnessed during his thirty-five years of emergency medicine. He has worked in many emergency room departments; from the smallest town to the largest cities in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, and New Mexico. These stories are meant to entertain, but also to demonstrate the wide varieties of difficulties that people bring to the ER. The stories in this book are generalized, and not given specific subjects. There is always something more to learn or see in the ER. You can learn about life in many ways and hopefully discover another way of living or even maintaining yourself more safely. While working in the ER you will experience various ways of life and in some severe cases, how deaths affect others. In America, so much of American life revolves around the ER. Often, in times of trouble it is the center that Americans run to for safety, assurance, decisions and judgements.
