1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 1:1 Jalqaba Waaqayyo samii fi dachii uume. 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 1:2 Lafti bifa hin qabnee fi duwwaa turte; dukkannis fuula gadi fagoo irra ture. Hafuurri Waaqayyoos fuula bishaanii irratti socho'e. 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 1:3 Waaqayyos, ""Ifni haa jiraatu"" jedheen. 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 1:4 Waaqayyos ifa gaarii ta'uu isaa argee, Waaqayyos ifa dukkana irraa gargar baase. 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. 1:5 Waaqayyos ifa sana Guyyaa, dukkana immoo Halkan jedhee moggaase. Galgalaa fi ganama immoo guyyaa jalqabaa ture.
