1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 1:1 Lúc khởi đầu, Đức Chúa Trời dựng nên trời và đất. 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 1:2 Vả, đất còn vô hình và trống không, bóng tối bao phủ mặt vực sâu. Linh của Đức Chúa Trời vận hành trên mặt nước. 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 1:3 Đức Chúa Trời phán rằng: Phải có sự sáng; thì có sự sáng. 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 1:4 Đức Chúa Trời thấy sự sáng là tốt lành, nên Ngài phân rẽ sự sáng ra khỏi sự tối tăm. 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. 1:5 Đức Chúa Trời gọi sự sáng là Ngày, và sự tối là Đêm. Buổi chiều và buổi sáng là ngày thứ nhất.
