This book introduces the Bible as one of the greatest works of world literature. Luke Ferretter is Professor of English at Baylor University, USA, where he teaches twentieth- and twenty-first-century British and American literature and theory, and the Bible as literature. He is the author of The Glyph and the Gramophone: D. H. Lawrence’s Religion (2013); Sylvia Plath’s Fiction: A Critical Study (2010); Louis Althusser (2006); and Towards a Christian Literary Theory (2003).
