The Best of B.C.: 58 Years of Pithy Prehistoric Puns and Fun

Overview

B.C. is a daily comic strip created by cartoonist Johnny Hart.  Set in prehistoric times, it features a group of cavemen and anthropomorphic animals from various geologic eras in lives that strongly correspond with the world of today.  The main character is BC, an orange haired, nave slob and eternal patsy, who along with his friend, Peter - the world's first philosopher and Thor - self-proclaimed ladies' man and the inventor of the wheel all inhabit a prehistoric world all too familiar to a modern day audience, there they ponder life and the universe, engage in the search for love and generally mooch about making rye comments about the state of things. Indeed, you could call them the first hipsters!

"""This is an endearing, nostalgic, and sentimental journey for adult readers, certainly. However, the snappy humor holds up well enough to appeal to younger audiences, and the drawings are still captivating. This is a book one might want to keep on the coffee table to share with others."" Portland Book Review (four-star review)"
