Ellen's Joyful Journey. Ellen loved nature and was a running enthusiast; her favorite pathway lay beneath tall, stately trees and meandered along a beautiful stream near her hometown. Sadly, after her third bout with cancer, her runs became walks. Despite her suffering, she continued to walk on days when she was able. In her last journal entry, she lamented the possibility that she would not be able to walk her beloved path, the scenic route she referred to as the beautiful trail. Ellen's life illuminated all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, forgiveness, perseverance, and hope. When the final fierce storm of her life raged against her mortality, her courageous spirit soared, trusting that the Creator of life, her Lord, was leading her to the beautiful trail's most glorious destination-an eternal, radiant heaven.
