Charles Steiner Author InformationCarolyn Yeager is a writer and former podcaster. Since 2007, she has specialized in 20th and 21st Century German history. This is her second book. Carolyn has also been responsible for facilitating the translation of a number of important German texts into English, including hard-to-locate speeches by Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler. Wilhelm L. Kriessmann was born in 1919 in Carinthia, Austria and grew up in the turbulent times between the two world wars. As a bomber pilot in the Luftwaffe, his service included 93 missions on the Eastern front. After the war, he completed his Ph.D. and went to work for the Austrian Trade Ministry in Vienna. A hard worker with creative ideas, he was soon promoted to Trade Commissioner for the US West Coast. He remained living in California with his wife and children.
