Who would think that a series of bad decisions would result in you being homeless, jobless and loveless? Not Ellen, who jumps into every idea full of optimism and hope. Fortunately, Ellen has great taste in dogs. Adopting a rescue brings her to the small town of Vermillion Creek, where she sets aside her dream of owning an art gallery for a job with unusual expectations. Supported by her good friends and rescue pup Pixie, Ellen finds a way to land on her feet, despite the best efforts of a mischievous goat named Carmen. Fortunately, Ben, the handsome down on his luck carpenter and Murray, her chiseled landlord are eager to help her find her way.
