Overview

The Arab Horse was first published in 1989 to acclaim from press and pundits. Since that date, the author has done much to revise, refine and update the contents - particularly that section devoted to the lines of descent. This new edition has been redesigned with lavish additional use of colour. It has many newly sourced illustrations of historic equestrian fine art and the author's own sketches and water-colours. The first Arab stallion brought to Britain (in the 1830s) from the Desert of Arabia was Padischah, whose pure-bred line still exists. This book provides a complete record of all the desert-bred horses imported after Padischah, from whom present day pure-bred Arab horses descend.
