OverviewDaniel 10:13 refers to a heavenly battle between the Prince of Persia, viewed as a malignant spiritual being, and the Archangel Michael. American missiologist C. Peter Wagner's prolific writings on spiritual warfare, based on this text, are frequently taken to be Pentecostal. This book explains why this perception is mistaken and why Wagner's interpretive method should not be labelled Pentecostal. It does so by relating historical meanings of the text to the interpretive framework of Classical Pentecostalism. While the book makes a contribution to Pentecostal methodology in the field of apocalyptic texts, more topically, it is aimed at Pentecostals interested in spiritual warfare. Those who have read Wagner's books will discover an alternative contemporary interpretation, but one which adheres to Classical Pentecostal interpretive principles.
