Colbert's previous publications include two novels from FriesenPress, Concerto for Two Boys and a Dog (2020) and On Time (2023), and a chapter in the book on long-lasting gay partnerships edited by Merle James Yost, When Love Lasts Forever (The Pilgrim Press, 1999). The Aim of Art was originally published in 2011 by Weavers Press in San Francisco. This corrected edition eliminates a few lingering typos and a couple of extraneous adjectives.
