Author Information

Jan Beaver is a Certified Scrum Trainer(R) who has worked with hundreds of teams across dozens of organizations to build effective, powerful Agile Teams. With a background in both education and software technology spanning more than 30 years, Jan brings a wealth of experience and empathy to the team experience. Jan holds a PhD in history, which provides an ability to see the whole and make connections across abstract concepts, in other words systems thinking. Understanding complex interactions within and between systems is the focus of much of his work. His current area of interest is the social interactions that occur within complex adaptive systems -- like Scrum Teams -- and how to enable true self-organization to achieve innovative solutions to the problems inherent in new product development.
