Zach suffered a near-drowning incident at a young age resulting in severe brain injury ultimately confining him to a wheelchair. Ashley's passion for writing children's literature is fueled by having two amazing children of her own, Ayla and Kainen. Ayla was born with a cognitive impairment and ADHD, yet is a vibrant, happy-go-lucky young lady. Kainen is a fun-loving, energetic little boy. As a parent to a special needs child and sister to another, Ashley is armed with unique insights into the complex world of disabilities. It is this knowledge that provides her the desire to advocate for the inclusion of all children.
