Author Information

Summer Shieder was born and raised in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She is a wife, a mother, and a former elementary school teacher with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of South Carolina and a Master's in Literacy from Coastal Carolina University. Summer and her family also have two Boykin Spaniels who are the inspiration for her first children's book, The Adventures of Two Brown Dogs. Summer loves cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She currently resides in Clemson, South Carolina. Margaret Wienges is a 39-year-old artist living in Columbia, SC. She has owned two Boykin Spaniels, Brice and Buddy Boy, whose antics she draws inspiration from. Margaret has also been a volunteer for Boykin Spaniel Rescue, Inc. for over ten years and enjoys caring for the many foster dogs that come through on their way to great, loving homes. The experience is truly South Carolinian-although the rescue works on a national level helping to rehabilitate and rehome any Boykin in need. Painting has afforded Margaret a joyful lifestyle, and she is grateful for the time she has to spend with her Boykins as a result.
