As a young boy he grew up in Southern California and was part of a Boy Scout Troop where he eventually earned the rank of ""Eagle"" which is the highest achievement a scout can earn.David is a Viet Nam veteran who was a member of the United States Navy. Upon exit from the military he became a family man with a wife and three sons. When the boys were of age he enrolled them also in the Boy Scouts of America and eventually became ""Scoutmaster"" of a local troop in Northern California, a position he held for 8 years. During his tenure as Scoutmaster 12 young men achieved the rank of ""Eagle"" which is something he holds as a major life accomplishment.Camping has always been a family activity. The great outdoors holds a special place in David's heart. The ""Great Reindeer"" stories originated in the 1970's when he was charged with keeping three young boys entertained around the campfire while mom got them cleaned and ready for bed. The Covid pandemic lockdown boredom caused David to take the time to write many of these stories down. With 20 to 30 more tales to come, he hopes you enjoy meeting the Great Reindeer. Keri Christian loves nature, children, and art, so getting a chance to illustrate The Great Reindeer series was a dream come true.
