Author Information

Valerie grew up in a small town in southeastern Oklahoma, fishing, climbing trees, building forts in the woods, and playing outside until dark. She created the characters Rascally and Hooter while making up stories for her own children at bedtime. Years later, after her children were grown, she decided to share the adventures with other children.Valerie is still living in Oklahoma after teaching music for over 36 years. She enjoys fishing and spending time outdoors, and continues her love of music by singing with a Sweet Adeline chorus.
