OverviewIn this first book, we are introduced to Monty the Money Tree as he reveals himself to Penny, a bright, curious and determined young girl with big dreams and an even bigger heart. She loves exploring new ideas and wants to make a big mark on the world. When Penny meets Monty, her incredible journey begins. ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** This series was passionately created after a few conversations with my husband on ways to teach the kids in our family about money sooner than later. In us is a deep desire to provide not only the children within our direct reach but also those in under-served and educationally underdeveloped areas with essential knowledge often omitted from basic elementary, middle school, and high school curricula. Gatekeeping information is crippling our communities. We recognize that by the time these young minds reach college age, they often face tremendous pressure to secure employment, leaving little room for exploration and contemplation of creating their own careers. This is especially true for Black, Brown and Indigenous children, who have been disproportionately deprived of financial education, perpetuating generational cycles of limited opportunities. It is high time we break these chains and foster new pathways to success for our communities. In these books, we aim to empower children with financial literacy and open their eyes to the vast potential of entrepreneurship and various trades. We implore you to read these stories to your children, encouraging them to share the valuable lessons with their friends and engage in discussions about business creation and skill development. Let us remind our children that some of the world's wealthiest individuals did not attend or graduate college, emphasizing the importance of diverse pathways to success. Together, let's shatter the barriers, uplift our communities, and instill in our children the belief that they can create their own destinies.
