OverviewKatie and the Secret Viking Treasure Katie pressed her nose against the cool window of Grandma's cottage, watching as the mist curled and swirled over the Scottish hills of Kirkhowan. Andy sat cross-legged by the fireplace, feeding a giggling George scraps of Grandma's shortbread. The village felt like a pocket of magic, tucked away where the world couldn't reach. ""Katie, will you take George out for a walk? He's bouncing like a bean,"" Grandma called from behind the counter of her tiny post office, dusting the edges of a floral postcard. Katie grinned, pulling on her red hoodie and hiking boots. Andy leapt up, his striped shirt sticking out like a flag. ""I'm coming too!"" he announced. The air outside smelled fresh and earthy as they wandered past the bakery, where the cheerful baker waved a floury hand. George bounded ahead, his red bandana flapping in the breeze. The children wandered to the edge of the old Viking village, where the ruins of stone houses lay crumbled under moss and grass. There, a towering oak tree stood, its gnarled roots curling into the earth like ancient fingers. The sun was warm, and the trio decided to rest under the tree's shade. Katie leaned back against the bark and closed her eyes, listening to the rustling leaves whisper above. But then- ""Who disturbs the Tree of Whispers?"" a deep, melodic voice boomed. Katie's eyes flew open, and Andy gasped. Standing before them was an old man, hIS wild grey hair tumbling over tattered Viking fur and leather. his piercing blue eyes seemed to look straight into their hearts. ""W-who are you?"" Katie stammered, clutching George close as he barked. ""I am the Keeper of the Vikings' Tale,"" the old man said, his voice like the waves lapping Kirkhowan Bay. ""Many moons ago, the Vikings of this land lost their most sacred treasure, stolen by those who sought to use its magic for greed. Without it, our legacy has faded into whispers on the wind."" He gestured to the tree, its branches swaying though there was no breeze. ""This tree guards the secret of the Viking treasure. It will lead only the worthy to it. But beware, the path is riddled with traps and tests of courage. The treasure must be returned, or the spirit of the Vikings will never rest."" Katie and Andy exchanged wide-eyed glances. George, still in Katie's arms, tilted his head curiously.
