As a sedentary, web-obsessed social outcast, Jenephie Lare never planned to survive anything, much less the end of the world. She's far more equipped for online debates than survival. But when zombies invade and her hometown falls before her eyes, her boredom is replaced with terror. Jene now finds herself trapped in a world that wants her dead. By herself, she wouldn't have a chance. Thankfully, she wasn't alone for long. A grizzled agent with too many weapons, a strange knowledge about the apocalypse, and not enough answers comes into play, saving her from danger at the last moment. He seems to know what's happening and claims he can keep her alive. With zombies overrunning the streets, Jene and her friends don't have a choice but to follow him as he leads them on a wild goose chase. Joined by her two best friends and a sharp-tongued punk, Jene is forced to learn and confront a brutal reality: survival isn't about strength or heroism. It's about adaptability. But something about the dead is wrong. Sometimes they don't aimlessly wander. On occasion, they move with intent and inspire even more questions. Jene soon begins to suspect the apocalypse was not a mere coincidence...
