Gary Powers is a 63 year old man that was born again as a child attending an Open Bible Church. Over the years he attended various churches including a couple Baptist churches in Houston Texas and he attended Lakewood Church in Houston Texas for numerous years where he served under the late John Osteen on the staff of the Lakewood Singles ministry and was on the Lakewood Singles Praise and Worship Team. Gary attended Lakewood Bible Institute for a short period of time and is well read in scripture. He has a strong love for God's Word and is very knowledgeable of it and is known to pray a lot of scripture. Gary also attended Believers Covenant Church for 2 1/2 years and served in the praise and worship team under Pastor Jay Snell at this church. Jay Snell is well known for writing a volume of books on the blessings of Abraham and has written many other books as well. Today Gary attends New Hope Assembly of God church in Urbandale Iowa, where he has been involved in the intercessory prayer ministry and he does daily intercessory prayer at his home. In the past, Gary served both as a TBN and a 700 Club prayer partner praying for others over the phone. Gary has been involved in prayer ministry for quite some time as it is part of his calling in serving the Lord Jesus Christ and is quite knowledgeable and gifted in that subject.
