Tales of drunkenness and silliness abound in this remarkable field study. The author courageously dives head-first into the rough-and-tumble of Welsh rugby to investigate such diverse aspects of the sport such as hangovers, karaoke, police stations, xenophobia, cheating referees, pranks on the team bus and heroic srinking bouts. Enjoy the sordid stories of going-away trips with behind-the-scenes insights - inadvertently showing why we are so proud to be Welsh. ************************** A study of Welsh rugby by a Penallta RFC player Richard Rowe gives new light on the realities of Welsh club rugby. A far cry from the professional game, the reality is still about drinking as much as you can, joking around, bad refereeing and stupid pranks on the team bus according to Richard. His new book, called The A-Z of Welsh Rugby goes into detail under headings such as Alcohol, Fancy Dress, Idiots, Karaoke, Police Stations and Star Wars Bars subjects close to the hearts of most club rugby players. The A-Z of Welsh Rugby is a tongue in cheek study of the off-field banter and stories surrounding the game and is described as funny and irreverent by Red Dragon Radio presenters Jase and Mel. They also point out in their introduction that: Richard is still a player and has spoken to many former players to write this book hes actually absorbed everything surrounding the game, so he should know what hes talking about. Richard Rowe himself says: I hope you enjoy reading the tales of drunkenness and silly rugby moments as much as I did when writing them, and I can say, with total honesty, that all the stories mentioned in this book are true. If you dont believe me, ask my mother. -- Y Lolfa
