OverviewI had several goals for writing this book. One of my goals was to bring awareness to mental illness. I struggle daily with a mental illness and wanted to share some of my life's experiences as they relate to my mental illness. Another one of my goals for writing this book is to break the shameful and often times inaccurate stigma that many people in our society have placed on people who have a mental illness. This stigma has caused many people, who have a mental illness, to not get professional help because they are concerned about how society will treat them. I also talk about the shameful way our government treats people that have a mental illness. Thank you for being compassionate enough about people that have a mental illness to read this book and experience some of the things we deal with on a daily basis. I will warn the reader now that parts of this book will make you cry. Other parts may anger you. Still other parts will bring a smile to your face. You are amazing.
