Overview"This book searches the development of Judaism, Christianity and Islam to provide reasons for the hatred of a faction of the Islamic world toward the West in general, and the United States in particular. It examines the possibility that the roots of this animosity are the result of the historical interactions between these three Abrahamic religions and more fundamentally the result of corruption of the original message of each religion. This book is primarily concerned with finding the reasons behind present civilizational conflicts in the world. It starts by reviewing two 'world order' paradigms for their explanatory value in defining the emerging international conflicts: 'The Clash of Civilizations"" paradigm suggested by Samuel Huntington; and 'Empire' paradigm developed by Hardt and Negri. This book has chosen the former paradigm, with its religious overtone in recognizing the root of the conflicts in civilizational differences, for a historical review of the development of Christianity and Islam and its relevance to the present international conflicts."
