She was born in 1979, in a small industrial city, Stalowa Wola (Poland). She left her country in 2001 and settled in Bordeaux where she finished her studies (started at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow) in French and Italian literature. Since 2006, she has lived partly in France, in a small village in Champagne, and partly in Belgium (Brussels). In collaboration with Sylvain Savoia, she published one comic book series Marzi which tells the story of her childhood in the communist Poland. The book has been translated in several languages, including English. Recently, her new graphic novel has been released in France, in collaboration with a French cartoonist Sandrine Revel, its title N'embrassez pas qui vous voulez. Very soon, it will be also published in Polish. A major theme in her writings is history. Not only facts and dates, but the people who experienced history and the way that history affects their lives. She loves dictionaries, even of the languages she doesn't speak.
