Hall began her writing career in the 1890s, specializing in novels for children. Over the course of her career, she published seven books, with most of them being released through the Glasgow-based publisher Blackie & Son. Known for her engaging and imaginative storytelling, Hall's work often centered on the lives and adventures of young characters, exploring the innocence and mischief of childhood.
