OverviewChildren and their parents can learn to slow down, reflect, and practice gratitude (with the places they call home) in the first of a new series, Thank You, Nantucket. Author Kate Mastellone's new Thank You series is here to help toddlers, young children, and their parents find the good in each day and foster an attitude of gratitude from within. As a summer resident of Nantucket and aspiring year rounder, Nantucket will always be the forever home to Kate and her family. Now, her first published book in her Thank You series pays homage to the island that they love. The final page in all of her ""Thank You"" books includes an interactive exercise where children and the adult reading to them can chronicle their gratitude together. The ""Today, I am thankful for..."" line prompts readers of all ages to engage in the practice of gratitude that is proven to promote mental health and internal happiness. This rhythmic picture book helps young children-and the adults who read to them-build a daily habit of gratitude. With a gentle, melodic tone, each page offers a ""thank you"" for the small wonders of Nantucket and encourages readers to see everyday life through a lens of appreciation. Inspired by her personal need for hope and light amid a time of despair in her own life, Kate hopes that her words, as well as Island illustrator Kara Falk's beautiful illustrations, bring rays of hope, joy, and laughter into each little reader's soul. Written in a similar style to the Good Night books from Adam Gamble, Thank You, Nantucket is perfect for toddlers through early elementary school students and helps parents plant seeds of positivity that can grow for a lifetime.
