Jennifer's love of baking began at about three years old when Santa brought a toy kitchen set. By age 8 she'd baked her first cake without supervision. The pie trend began in high school when she won the Betty Crocker Homemakers of Tomorrow award. This was an especially delicious prize to her since she'd just received a B rather than an A because her apple pie didn't boil over in the school's oven. She says that any cook knows it takes practice to make a perfect pie without boil over.
