Author Information

Dr. Ken Springer is a Professor Emeritus of Education at Southern Methodist University. His areas of expertise span child development, education, and quantitative research methods. Dr. Springer earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Cornell University. During his three decades as a professor at SMU, he published more than 60 scientific articles and six books spanning the fields of psychology and education. His prior administrative work includes chairing the university's Institutional Review Board and the Department of Teaching & Learning, and he served as an advisor to a number of visiting scholars, postdoctoral fellows, and students from the undergraduate through doctoral levels. Throughout his career, Dr. Springer has been deeply involved with community-based non-profit organizations that serve families and children, including those that support children with disabilities. In his spare time, he writes a free plain-English newsletter on new research in areas such as health, medicine, psychology, and education (https: //statisfied.substack.com).
