Overview

The connections between golf and wine are many and varied. They include golf course, vineyards, wineries and people. This book is a treasure trove of entertaining stories and discoveries. It all begins with the land for both golf and grapes. From the pure links courses of Scotland to the vineyards of the old and new worlds of wine, in this book you will discover the fascinating synergy between golf and wine. The story of the Claret Jug, golf's most treasured trophy of the oldest major, the Open Championship, is enlightening. Many professional golfers have their own wine labels while many clubs and courses encourage golf and wine enthusiasts to indulge in their dual passions.

David Meltzer, Co-founder of Sports 1 Marketing, best-selling author, and top business coach. ""Two of my favorite things in life are golf and wine, and Taba Dale has given us a book that explores both subjects and their many connections with wonderful verve and depth. She is exactly right when she writes that everything begins with the ground in golf and grapes. Then she avers that vineyards like courses are living works of art and takes readers to some of Scotland's finest courses. What an enchanting and intoxicating read!"" John Steinbreder, Senior Writer, Architecture and Travel Editor at Global Golf Post."

Author Information

Taba Dale established her golf themed company, Scottsdale Collection, in the early 1990s. Building on her expertise as a fine art dealer, she became the first to specialize in selling golf art online, offering both graphic works and originals. Her company was invited to be a vendor at the prestigious 1997 US Open at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD. Taba's innovative style of merchandising broke all sales records in her categories, including golf prints, original paintings, photography, memorabilia and books. The enormous commercial success led to Scottsdale Collection becoming a vendor at the 1998 US Senior Open at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA. Here, Taba met the Director of Golf, Michael G. Miller, who resigned after the tournament to paint full-time and Scottsdale Collection became his exclusive agent. Two highlights that resulted from this dynamic association were Taba curating a one-man show for Miller at The World Golf Hall of Fame in St Augustine, FL, in 2000, and another at the United States Golf Association in Far Hills, NJ, in 2001. Miller is the only artist to have one-man shows at either institution. In 2005, Taba partnered with Dublin-born Kevin McGrath to form a golf travel company, arranging custom-tailored luxury golf trips. They also travel worldwide themselves, frequently visiting the 'trophy' courses, and playing hidden gems all over the world. All these extraordinary golfing experiences have led to the publication of three books: A Summer in Ireland, Life and Golf on the Emerald Isle, A Stroll on the Old Lady, which is primarily about playing golf in Scotland and Golfers, Scotland is Calling. All three books have been well reviewed on Amazon and Stroll was honored with an Outstanding Achievement Award in 2016 by the International Network of Golf. Taba's latest book is Terroir of Golf, A Golf Book for Wine Lovers.Taba Dale has been featured in over fifteen magazine and newspaper articles. In addition to her TV interview on Out of Ireland, she is frequently a guest on six syndicated radio shows. For a comprehensive list of all media appearances, please visit: www.ScottsdaleCollection.com.
