OverviewTensors for Inquiring Minds takes readers on a journey to discover tensors — powerful mathematical concepts used in many areas of modern science. Starting from the familiar ground of numbers and operations with numbers, readers are invited to re-examine these ideas in a new light, slowly building towards a deep understanding of the advanced mathematical concepts which they underpin. The overriding goal of this book is to explain tensors, specifically, by showing them in action and in relation to less complicated concepts, such as numbers and vectors.
