Author Information

Mihnea Ioan Nicolescu holds dual degrees in Dentistry and Medicine, as well as a Specialist Degree in Oral-Maxillo-Facial Surgery. Currently, he is an Associate Professor and head of the Histology Division at the Faculty of Dentistry, ""Carol Davila"" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. He also works as a scientific researcher at the ""Victor Babeș"" National Institute of Pathology, Romania and as a Visiting Lecturer at King's College London, UK, where he graduated at the top of his class with an MSc in Regenerative Dentistry. A pioneer in his field, he was part of the research team that discovered and characterized a new human interstitial cell type--the Telocyte. His publication record includes over 50 articles and book chapters. His primary research interests involve understanding the regenerative mechanisms of salivary gland stem cells and developing clinical applications based on this knowledge. Additionally, he established Romania's first Regenerative Dentistry module for dental students.
