Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationMr. Morton is a native of Newark, New Jersey. He started his correctional career in 1973, joining the U.S. Army as a Correctional Specialist. Before retiring from the military in 1993, with 20 years of service, Mr. Morton had worked in several management positions; i.e.; Administration Branch, Correctional Supervision Branch and Parole Chief. Mr. Morton started his career with the Washington State Department of Correction in July 1994 as a Correctional Officer at WCCW. In December 1994, Mr. Morton left the Department to pursue his Bachelor Degree. He graduated from Central WA University in Dec. 1996, with a Bachelor degree in Law and Justice and was hired as a juvenile parole officer assistant with Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration. In April 1998, he returned to the Department as a Community Corrections Officer. On January 07, 2001, Mr. Morton was appointed to the position of Associate Superintendent at Coyote Ridge Corrections Center. On August 1, 2006, Mr. Morton was appointed to the position of Superintendent at the Pine Lodge Corrections Center for Women. Mr. Morton served as the National Vice President of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice from 2008 until 2011. As a laborer, executive management, and now a laborer I now understand the need for labor and executive management to have a healthy relation between the two. I have always supported labor and will continue to fight for Union Rights. It is essential that the rights of labor be understood, accepted, and appreciated. Mr. Morton's motto is: Failure is not an option. Success is the only option. Vikki Hankins is an award-winning digital magazine publisher, marketer and book publisher. She is responsible for successfully planning, analyzing, recommending and implementing multi-channel marketing strategies to meet marketing goals.
