Author Information

Frank A. Aycock, Ph.D., has been a professor of communication at Appalachian State University for more than a quarter century. A former local television broadcaster, Dr. Aycock is a futurist and a firm believer in the transformative power of the new television technologies. He is the author of 21st Century Television: The Players, The Viewers, The Money, the first book in the 21st Century Television series. In September2013, Dr. Aycock was a presenter of a TED talk at the TEDx Conference in Nagoya, Japan. Adam Powers is a fifteen year veteran of the media & entertainment and communications industries and has spent the last decade developing products and technologies that bring the television and Internet together. As vice president of media technology and solutions for V2Solutions, he helps studios and broadcasters with Data as a Service (DaaS) solutions to automate their workforces and make their knowledge workers more effective and productive. Prior to V2Solutions, Adam worked for Rovi, Intel, and was co-founder and CTO of home networking start-up Coaxsys. He has chaired and participated on international committees, including CableLabs, FCC, DLNA, and CEA.
