Teledentistry has been proved helpful for remoting dental screening, oral health education and promotion, diagnosis, and proposing treatment plan in adult as well as pediatric population. It is found beneficial in providing consultations in areas with limited access to facilities, in school children, and in long-term healthcare facilities. Teledentistry had offered novel solution to resume dental practice during the pandemic, hence, the need of the hour is to incorporate teledentistry into routine dental practice. Not fully replace, but at least can complement the existing compromised dental system during the Covid-19 pandemic. This literature highlights the origin, benefits, scope, requirements for telemedicine and teledentistry and its applications in various fields; majorly it's application in the field of pediatric dentistry. This literature also gives the ray of hope to the future of teledentistry showing the current evidence to support the practice and also the challenges, ethical and legal issues associated with practicing teledentistry and its future as an innovative method for delivering oral health care.
