Bakari Thompson grew up in the city of Pittsburgh, PA with both parents and six other siblings. Growing up it was rough living in a home with so many others. Bakari struggled with his own personal identity and insecurities. His childhood and teenage years were his most depressing year of his life. His creativity and education was his escape from his depression and so he excelled in both of those areas. During his college years, he began to find himself and grew confident of his identity and he was able to finally break free from depression. He recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with his B.A. in Communications and is now attending Rutgers University for his Masters in Communications. Bakari hopes to continuing writing and inspiring people around the world. His motto he lives by is if he can save just one life then he feels his job is complete.
