Greg Renoff was born in the Bronx, New York, and grew up in New Jersey. Renoff earned his Ph.D. in American history from Brandeis University and is the author of The Big Tent: The Traveling Circus in Georgia, 1820-1930 and Van Halen Rising: How a Southern California Backyard Party Band Saved Heavy Metal. His writing has appeared in Medium.com/Cuepoint, Guitar World, LA Weekly and Vulture, and he and his work have been profiled in Salon, Maxim, and the Boston Herald. He lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with his wife and two daughters. Sean Runnette, an Earphones Award-winning narrator, has also directed and produced more than two hundred audiobooks, including several Audie Award winners. He is a member of the American Repertory Theater company and has toured the United States and internationally with ART and Mabou Mines.
