Author Information

Giorgio Graditi, PhD, is the Head of the Department of Energy Technologies and Renewable Sources of the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA). He received his doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Palermo in Italy. Author of more than 250 scientific papers published in international journals and proceedings of international conferences, his main research interest include: power systems design and control; energy conversion components and systems design and characterization; renewable energy; smart grids modeling and control; integrated energy systems and multi-energy hub systems; and renewable energy communities. Marialaura Di Somma, PhD, is a Research Scientist at the Department of Energy Technologies and Renewable Sources of the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA). She received her doctorate in Mechanical Systems Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II in Italy. Author of more than 70 scientific contributions most of them published in international journals and proceedings of international conferences, her main research interests include: integrated energy systems and local energy communities; multi-carrier energy systems modeling and optimization; demand response; and power systems design and control.
