Author Information

The author is a scientist turned engineer with 62 years of working experience. He has about 2 decades of experience as a lecturer in technical fields of study. Out of his 25 years of service in Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (at BHEL he was an Industrial Engineer for 7 years and for the last 8 years, was In-charge of Prototype Development Centre, a specially created workshop by BHEL Management based on his proposal to develop Import Substitutes and low cost technologies). In BHEL, he attended and also organized, innumerable courses by outside faculties for Engineer Trainees; he conducted many programs on Value Engineering (VE) and Productivity specializing in Techniques of Creative Problem Solving. His 2 decades of efforts in mastering VE techniques, culminated in acquiring the most coveted professional certificate in VE - CERTIFIED VALUE SPECIALIST (CVS) from the Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE) in 1988.
