Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationPamela Nottingham comes from Marlow, a town on the banks of the River Thames and a centre of the bobbin lace for three hundred years. Having mastered the craft in the mid 1950' she accepted an invitation to teach weekend courses at Missenden Abbey in Buckinghamshire; invitations came for classes throughout the country. Demand for courses in Europe, America, and New Zealand followed. She has always taught traditional English lace and uses South Bucks bobbins fashioned from beech trees in the Chiltern Hills. Six practical books, each with numbered diagrams and clear instructions are aimed at the inexperienced lacemaker. Bucks Point, Bedfordshire and Torchon laces are her preferred interest.
