Peterson is a retired professor of mathematics at Chattanooga State Community College, Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he received the Teaching Excellence Award. His professional experience includes teaching at middle school, high school and university levels as well as working in the industry. In addition to MATHEMATICS FOR MACHINE TECHNOLOGY, 8th Edition, Dr. Peterson has authored or co-authored four other Cengage books: INTRODUCTORY TECHNICAL MATHEMATICS, TECHNICAL MATHEMATICS, TECHNICAL MATHEMATICS WITH CALCULUS and MATH FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE TRADE.
