Overview

"Since time immemorial, men have been driven to form groups and work together to survive, solve problems, develop skills, and achieve their goals among other purposes. As the days go by, you and yourself are in a team. The question is not about you associating with others, but will your involvement positively impact the group? You can and the answers to the question in this book. People enjoy working as a team, but how does it work? Why do some teams move forward and others backward? There is no simple answer to this question. The challenging aspect is that leaders have identified what separates a great team from a collection of individuals who cannot seem to get it together. Teamwork is regarded as one of the most effective forms of work (Richter et al., 2011). My desire is to make team building simple to understand, retain and put into practice for the purpose of leadership. That is why I recommend teamwork as the catalyst for organizational success. No matter who you are and where you come from, the most important thing is that you will depend on it to move forward. Teamwork is essential for competing in today's global arena, where individual perfection is not as desirable as a high level of collective performance. Owing to the economic globalization of the 21st century, there is so much to learn about multicultural teams. In addition, there is a lot to study about the support systems required such that this work configuration can be adequately managed (Stevens, 1994). In knowledge-based enterprises, teams are the norm rather than the exception. A critical feature of this team is that they have a significant degree of empowerment or decision-making authority. Many establishment workforces use several types of teams, which include product/service development teams, project teams, and action teams to achieve diverse goals and remain competitive (Sundstrom, 1999). Teams can come in all shapes and sizes. If you are married, you and your spouse form a team. In an organization, the employee and the employer become a team while in the church, the Pastor/Rev and his congregations also form a team. This book is aimed at encouraging you to devote yourself to the process of learning to be a great team member and team builder. As you read this book ""Teamwork and Team Management: Catalyst for Organizational Success"", and internalize its content, it will no doubt impact positively on your life."
