James H. Shonk is the President of Shonk & Associates. He specializes in building teams, designing team-based organizations and rapidly adapting organizations, and working with internal consulting groups to develop strategies for change. Prior to forming Shonk & Associates, he was Manager of Organization Development for General Foods Corporation and held positions in Personnel and Organization Development with Exxon. His clients include many Fortune 500 companies. Shonk holds an M.S. in Industrial Relations from The University of Wisconsin. In addition to his best-selling books on teams, Working in Teams , and Team-Based Organizations , he is a contributing author to Organization Development in Health Care. His article, What Business Teams Can Learn from Athletic Teams, ' appeared in Personnel Magazine. Mr. Shonk has also presented team concepts at The University of Michigan, The University of Connecticut, The National Training Laboratories, and The Organization Development Network.
