OverviewThis book is intended for brass methods courses in which music education students learn how to play and teach brass instruments. Each instrument chapter (trumpet and cornet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba) is written by a specialist on that instrument. This text provides a number of exercises, in-depth instruction and reference materials. The book is written by 5 brass players, each chapter written by a specialist on that instrument, and includes more than 250 exercises, written specifically for the college level beginning brass student. This eliminates the need for a separate exercise book. It provides in-depth instruction for playing and teaching the brasses and an abundance of reference material for future school teachers (such as which equipment to buy and which song books to use at various levels of instruction). Also described are embouchure, proper breath control and methods of articulation for each brass instrument.
