Author Information

Michael Coulson taught Sanskrit at the University of Edinburgh. He died before the book was published and Richard Gombrich, formerly Boden Professor of Sanskrit at Oxford University, saw the book through the press. James Benson, University Lecturer at Oxford University, carried out a light revision for this and the second and third editions of the book.
