Heather Rees started dancing at the age of three. She trained in classical ballet with Marguerite Thomas in Penarth and learned 'American' tap with Gertrude Beaton. In her late teens she was introduced to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, for whom she eventually became an examiner.
