Follow Sensei and his comrades through this second volume of the Tales of Zen Buddhist Scoundrels. This work delves deeper into the lives, teachings, and anti-teachings, of such dubious and deplorable figures as Fu War, The Dreaded Fujikami and Worn Out Sandals. This large collection of short stories seeks to prove, in greater detail that the previous volume, that liberation exists quite apart from any safe and secure standards that we all set up to comfort ourselves. Sometimes the ultimate truth comes from madmen, cowards, infidels and miscreants utterly lacking in ambition. For those of a more base nature, there will be many satisfying tales of sex, wine, blasphemy and socially unacceptable behavior. The cloying Buddhism of anti-war Berkeley hippies is not to be found here. These tales are of a harder edge, emerging from the sleaziest neighborhoods in Los Angeles to the bandit-filled roadsides of ancient Japan. In this collection, our heroes can't help you grow in your Mother Theresa and Mahatma Gandhi path. The truth is just too complicated for that.
